A review of lithium extraction from natural resources

Lithium is considered to be the most important energy metal of 21st century. Because development trend global electrification, consumption lithium has increased significantly over last decade, and it foreseeable that its demand will continue increase for a long time. Limited by total amount on market, extraction from natural resources still first choice rapid emerging industries. This paper reviews recent technological developments in resources. Existing methods are summarized main resources, such as spodumene, lepidolite, brine. The advantages disadvantages each method compared. Finally, reasonable suggestions proposed based understanding existing methods. review provides reference research, development, optimization, industrial application future processes.
